Fundraisers
We are raising funds to support the much needed seismic and general upgrades to the Errington War Memorial Hall
Seismic upgrades are now necessary to keep the building safe and functioning for years to come. With the help of structural engineers we have a plan to make this happen while providing more usable space for much needed storage, a new meeting room and a larger upgraded certified kitchen

How To DonateRaffle Basket Draw
As a result of generous donations by Errington business and community members, we are holding a raffle to raise funds to cover the associated costs of this project which are not directly construction related (furnishings, equipment, etc.) By purchasing raffle tickets, you are eligible to win one of two prize packages, both in excess of $3000! The draw will be happening on October 26, at the Halloween Dance. You do not need to be present to win, but you should plan to come, in costume, and dance the night away to the Palace Band which you would know from our Vaudeville shows!
– Information About Our Fundraiser –
In 2017 it was brought to the attention of the Errington Hall Board that the two main side walls of the building (north and south) were bowing out and required additional structural support. So far we have completed and passed the necessary upgrades on the North wall and now we’re looking to complete the work on the South wall along Veterans Rd.
To date, we have managed to receive three government grants, but additional funding is required to achieve our goals. Grants have been received from: The RDN, the provincial government Capital Projects Gaming Grant, and now we are seeking the support of our community to help raise the remaining funds.

– A Little History About the Errington War Memorial Hall –
In 1922, volunteers in our community came together to build a War Memorial in the shape of a Hall to honour fallen and wounded Errington Veterans.
Since then, the Hall has been the only publicly accessible venue in Errington and hosts countless events throughout the year. Annual events include a Halloween Dance and Pumpkin Trail, Christmas Craft Faire and Concert and the Hi Neighbour Day community celebration. The Hall also provides a weekly recreation night for local families, and a great concert series sponsored by the BC Touring Council that brings amazing talent to our community. Locals have an opportunity on stage at the monthly Coffee House that has been running for 50 years. To top it all off, the Hall is transformed every February for the legendary ‘Night at the Palace’, a sold-out show of vaudeville and burlesque.
The Hall is rented regularly for everything from weddings to funerals, to school and daycare events. Community members also use the hall for meetings, music classes, health & wellness events, and is home to weekly programming for the Heartwood Home Learners Cooperative, who also hold their annual musical production and talent shows. A home learning program through SD71 also uses the hall on a weekly basis supporting over 50 children.
For 102 years, community volunteers have served on the Board of Directors of the Errington War Memorial Hall Association, successfully handing the stewardship of the Hall from one group to another. Each group has maintained and improved the Hall over the years so it’s always available to the community. Hall Board members and the amazing community volunteers make everything possible, and last year alone over 200 volunteers provided an unbelievable 5,000 hours of volunteer labour to the Hall.
The Errington War Memorial Hall is both a symbol of, and a practical manifestation of community spirit. It has always provided cost effective social, recreational, and cultural services to Errington and Greater Oceanside communities with an average of 1,500 persons a month attending our various events and activities.
