Marimbas are fun for all to play and now we’re inviting children as young as five to make music on our hand-built wooden instruments.
This new program for ages 5 to 7 will be offered to just 4 children to begin with but will be expanded as the instructors-in-training enhance their teaching skills. Junior Marimba Club leaders Auryn and Alexa assisted the professional instructors with the grandparents/ grandkids camp this summer and were praised for their efforts. We think they’re ready to begin leading a small group.
The Junior Marimba Club will introduce an instrument that’s fun to play and sounds great. Learning the sounds and playing techniques will build youngsters’ musical skills and confidence. All participants will benefit and enable the Errington Hall’s marimba programs to become more sustainable as we develop local instructors.
The club will be held every 2nd Sunday from 10:00 to 10:45 beginning October 5 and finishing on Nov 30. The cost is $30 for all six sessions and pre-registration is required. The dates are Oct 5, Oct 19, Nov 2, Nov 16, Nov 30 and Dec 14.
Note: An adult coordinator will be in the room to monitor the program during all sessions. Parents are welcome to come and hang out in an adjacent room for the 45 minutes of the program.
NOTE: Space is limited with a maximum of 4 participants. Register by using the form below. Please make the cheque payable to the Errington Hall and mail it together with the completed registration form to PO Box 15, Errington, BC V0R 1V0.
